MARSHALLS AWARDS $5,000 TO SUPPORT WOMEN AGAINST ABUSE’S EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
PHILADELPHIA – National retailer Marshalls, a subsidiary of TJX companies, has awarded $5,000 to support Women Against Abuse’s emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence.
Women Against Abuse (WAA) operates the only emergency shelter in Philadelphia dedicated to the needs of women and children who have been made homeless by the physical, emotional and financial threats of an abuser.
Each year, more than 600 victims — half of whom are children — reside in WAA’s shelter.
The TJX Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Marshall’s parent company, has generously awarded WAA 50 gift cards each valued at $100 to purchase essentials and needed items at any of TJX’s stores, which includes T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls.
WAA is grateful for the support Marshalls and the TJX Foundation have made toward supporting quality emergency housing services for victims of domestic violence in the Philadelphia community.
