5:15-6:00pm Exclusive Pre-Event (Invitation Only)
Independence Mall West, 150 N. Sixth St., Philadelphia, PA, 19106

400 guests attended last year’s sold out Dish It Up, which has quickly become a distinctive Philadelphia event and the only female chef competition.
This year’s event highlights the comprehensive services provided at Women Against Abuse’s safe havens, and provides guests with an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by domestic violence.
Premier female restaurateurs create an award-winning dish with an element of purple– the official color of the anti-domestic violence movement. Past winners (2014-2009): Aimee Olexy, Natalie Maronski, Ann Jamavan, Marcie Turney, and Jennifer Caroll. Don’t forget dessert! Pastry chefs compete for the coveted Purple Cupcake Award! Past winners include (2014-2010): Pam Kingsland, Melissa Torre, Kristen Piano, and Roz Bratt. Fashion Guests can display purple-inspired styles, enjoying photo opportunities and our social media trending throughout the evening!
This award honors women leaders who demonstrate extraordinary support for efforts to prevent domestic violence and promote safety for women in Philadelphia. Chef Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran received the inaugural award!
The recipient of the 2015 Woman of the Year Award is Sandy Sheller, a philanthropist, advocate and therapist. Her outstanding work with mothers and children in transition, efforts to strengthen shelter services in Philadelphia, and impact for the underserved through the Sheller Family Foundation, echoes our dedication to trauma-informed care. We are pleased to recognize an individual who has impacted our work through her contributions in the field and as a supporter of Women Against Abuse.
