Women Against Abuse Education and Training Team Receives Award

Women Against Abuse's Education and Training team was honored last month by the Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (PSAHPERD). The team, led by Director of Education and Training Azucena Ugarte, was recognized at the organization's Awards Luncheon on November 21 with an award for Community Teachers of the Year in the Health category. Women Against Abuse is extraordinarily grateful for PSAHPERD's recognition of our work in Philadelphia-area middle and high schools, throughout the Philadelphia community at large, and within the field of education. The need for education on domestic violence could not be more urgent within our community, and we are proud of the hard work that our Education and Training department does every day to address this issue.
